Yesterday, Sec. Leavitt and the Department of Health and Human Services released the official version of a proposed regulation that has generated considerable objection from physician and nurse groups, members of Congress, and individuals interested in the provision of reproductive health services.

The press release continues to allude to the physician certification issue, which the certifying organization itself has debunked. I still need to properly digest the complete regulation [PDF], but RHRealityCheck has some analysis here.

The document will be available for public comment at Regulations.gov for 30 days before becoming final. It is not there yet, but I’ll update in a new post when it is.
